John W. Stout, 75, of Barrington

John W. Stout, 75, of Barrington passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Helen M. Stout and the loving father of John R. Stout (Gail) and Katherine Murphy.

He was the cherished Papa of Rebecca Pinto, Luke Stout, Mollie Young and Aurora Caravelli. 

Born in Berks County, Pa. on Oct. 3, 1942, he was the dear brother of Alice Ganster of Texas.

John graduated from Dickenson College in Pa., then earned his master’s degree at Northeastern University and his doctorate in public administration from Nova University.

He had a long, varied career at Roger Williams University for 44 years as a professor, department head and dean. He taught as an adjunct professor at Northeastern University for 50 years and for 6 years at Mount Wachusett Community College.

Besides loving time with his family and friends, John and Helen enjoyed travel and live music.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Nayatt Road, Barrington. 

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018 in the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Ave., Riverside from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers please perform an act of kindness in John’s memory. For online condolences please visit wrwatsonfuneralhome.com
