Explore the Statuary at Linden Place with a Special Guided Tour

Posted

On Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 1:00pm, a special docent-led tour will be offered focusing on the statuary on the Linden Place Mansion grounds. Explore the grounds while you uncover the history behind the statues and the man that brought them to Bristol, Samuel Pomeroy Colt. Hear the stories of Polymny, the woman who graces the front lawn as well as the “rampant colts” placed throughout the lawns. As you tour the grounds, you will have a chance to appreciate the 200-year-old mansion from a different view.

Our docent, Phyllis Thibault, has conducted extensive research and compiled information about the background of the many sculptures, the prior placement on Colt State Park and the meaning of each statue.

Admission is $10, free for Linden Place members. Reservations are recommended as this tour will sell out. For reservations, please call 401-253-0390, visit www.lindenplace.org or email info@lindenplace.org.
