The Barrington High School girls volleyball team defeated Cranston High School West 3-0 in a Division I playoff quarterfinal on Thursday, Nov. 9.
The win propels third-seeded Barrington into a semifinal matchup against second-seeded Coventry. The Eagles and Oakers will meet on Thursday, Nov. 16 at East Greenwich High School at 7:30 p.m. (Coventry defeated Ponaganset 3-1 in a quarterfinal.)
Barrington rolled to a 25-12 win in the first game against Cranston West, and pulled ahead 2-0 after a 25-18 victory in the second game. The Eagles capped the victory with a 25-22 victory in the third game.
Julia Fortin paced Barrington with seven kills, three blocks and three serving aces, while Emilia Dell-Antonio had 27 assists and eight digs. Kaylee Feather finished with four aces and six digs.
Barrington played Coventry twice during the regular season. When the two teams met on Sept. 21, Coventry defeated Barrington 3-2. When the Eagles and Oakers met for a second time on Thursday, Oct. 19, it was Barrington grabbing a 3-1 victory.
