Barrington police are investigating some alleged indecent behavior that took place Monday, Nov. 12.
According to police, a Barrington woman was walking down Nayatt Road at about 11 a.m. when a blue pickup truck pulled up next to her, stopped, and the driver appeared to fondle himself. The man then got back into the vehicle and drove away.
The woman told police the truck returned a few minutes later and stopped near her, but pulled away when she reached for her cell phone.
A Barrington police officer traced the vehicle to a Riverside address. The officer went to the address and found the vehicle — its engine was still warm — parked in the driveway.
The officer knocked on the door, but no one answered. A check of the suspect showed that the motorist did not have any criminal history in Rhode Island but did have prior criminal offenses in New Hampshire.
