During the weekend of October 19-20, twenty-three artists will open their studios to the public in the fifth annual West Bay Open Studios Tour. The tour is free and self-guided, meandering through the neighboring coastal towns of East Greenwich, Warwick, and North Kingstown. This once a year opportunity gives art lovers and collectors the perfect venue to shop for fine art and crafts. Many artists will be giving talks and demonstrations, giving insight to their creative process.
An array of art genres will be on display including: oil paintings, pastel, watercolor, calligraphy, sculpture, pottery, photography, tapestry, stained glass, fused glass, hand painted silk scarves, and mixed media. Participating North Kingstown artists include: Nina Ackmann, Nancy Chapman, Debbie Ferrazzoli, Henry Gauthier, Claire Marschak, Lynn Martin, Nancy Nielsen, Lorena Pugh (Purebred Editions), Tracy Taylor, Kurt VanDexter and Cindy Wilson. East Greenwich artists are: Janet Austin, Marjorie Ball, Alice Benvie Gebhart, Nancy Gaucher-Thomas, Jane Parillo (Scribe), and Beth Rodewig. In Warwick, the artists are: Carole Berren, Lorraine Bromley, Carol Shelton, and Sharon D. Eisman. The studio of Michele Leavitt is in Saunderstown, and Tiffany Adams is in Exeter.
Printed maps and brochures are available at all the studios and at the local businesses that sponsor this event.
