The Parenting Support Group will meet on Sunday, November 24 at 6:00 PM in the Tildsley Building at St. Michael’s Church, 399 Hope Street. This group is an opportunity for parents of preschool and school age children to discuss the everyday challenges they encounter in raising children today. In previous group sessions participants have talked about oppositional behavior, building self-confidence, teaching responsibility, understanding children’s moods and setting limits. Discussion is focused on the concerns that parents bring to the group. The group is facilitated by a mental health professional and all material is treated as confidential. All parents are welcome, single or partnered, traditional or nontraditional and parents in blended families. There is no charge for the group but participants are encouraged to bring a donation of non perishable food or personal hygiene items for the Bristol Good Neighbors Food Pantry. Child care is available but parents planning to bring children must contact Jennifer DeWolf at (401) 935-3359 by Nov. 22 to let her know how many children and their ages will be attending.
