Naturalist and artist Frances Topping will demonstrate how to use a journal/sketchbook to record and more fully engage with your surroundings and experiences. Review examples, get ideas on what and how to observe in the field and review techniques. Bring a lunch and plain notepaper or sketchbook and either a pencil, felt tip or waterproof pen. Optional items include a folding chair or something to sit on outdoors and a hand lens or magnifying glass. Students may use colored pencils or watercolor if they wish. Advance registration is required.
