Tiverton police: Fishing boat rescues kiter

Tuesday, May 16 At 5:14 p.m., a 17-year old Tiverton boy was charged with possession of marijuana, first offense. A Randolph Avenue caller at 8:36 p.m. reported "loud people screaming." The investigating officer reported "those parties are grilling in their driveway and garage, asked them to keep it down, they said they would." At 9:03 p.m., police noted a "second call about loud noise and music at residence." Complainant did not want to speak with an officer. At 9:29 p.m., the officer reported "those parties closed their garage door, shouldn't have any further issues."

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
